I am in a strange position and would appreciate if you can give any thoughts...
Aug 2016 - I-140 has been filed under EB-1b my employer, say A.
Dec 2016 - The company organizational structure changed. That is, the three sister companies merged as one company, say B. The federal Tax id is different for company A and B.
June 2017 - my I-140 approved, but didn't file I-485 as the dates retrogressed for EB1 category.
Oct 2017 - I-485 has been filed by company B using the approved I-140 that is under company A.
There is no amendment filed for my I-140 for the name change. Is my I-485 still valid? Now I received an RFE to submit I-485J and company B is submitting on the basis of job portability under section 204(j).
Now I am questioning myself - is my I-485 valid? or do I have to start over the entire process with I-140?
