  • We reviewed your biometrics and are still processing your case

    I did my biometrics on 3/19 and on 4/4 my status changed to "We reviewed your biometrics and are still processing your case". How long it usually takes to receive EAD card and interview after this update? I filed my AOD based on married to USC and my PD is 1/16.

    If your field office has relatively fast processing times listed (8 months and under), I'd say you might get your interview notice and your interview may happen before your EAD arrives. Field offices with fast processing times do not seem at all affected by the new blanket interview requirement for all employment based AOS petitions. However, 9 months and up seem to be slowing down. The new processing times are supposed to be posted on the 15th, I guess.
    I would keep tabs on the I-485 RFE you responded to and make sure that it was received and re-introduced into your file. What's your field office?

      All of my applications are being processed at National Benefits center. I 130 is the only one that's being processed at Texas Service center.

        I think I see where I might be able to clarify a couple of things. Your field office is determined by your zip code. You don't have to share it. We ask just to have a point of reference on record that others can read later when they're wondering about that field office. Here is the link to find yours. https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-.../field-offices

        Then with that information, you can find look up the processing times for your field office. Go to this link. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
        Then select your field office and I-485.
        You'll get a range: "9months to 15 months" That combines both employment based AOS and family based. You have to scroll down in order to see their individual processing times. The first number is how long it takes to process 50% of the cases and the second number is how long it takes to process 93% of the cases.

        These processing times are only being tested on 4 pilot forms. Those are:
        Form N-400, Application for Naturalization;
        Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card;
        Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status; and
        Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence.

        All other forms, like the I-130, I-131, are called Non-pilot forms and these processing times calculations do not apply to them.

        Check out this article. It explains nicely what the National Benefits Center does. It used to be the Missouri Service Center and that's why your receipts start with MSC. http://www.dinsmore.com/publications...loyment-cases/
        "Behind the scenes, USCIS will transfer your pending I-485 from its current USCIS Service Center (either the Texas Service Center or Nebraska Service Center) to the National Benefits Center (NBC), a national clearinghouse that coordinates operations with the USCIS field offices. The NBC will organize your file and coordinate scheduling of an interview date and time with the USCIS field office nearest your residence. The NBC will mail you a notice informing you of the date, time and office address of your interview. After sending your appointment notice, the NBC will ship your file to the field office before your scheduled interview."

        It's about employment based AOS interviews but the role of the NBC is the same.

        Hope that helps. All the best.

            For me its showing: Virginia - Washington Field Office in Fairfax VA. The processing timelines are:

            8.5 Months to 22 Months Employment-based adjustment applications June 23, 2016
            10.5 Months to 18 Months Family-based adjustment applications October 29, 2016

            Thank you for the explanation. It was really helpful.
