  • Question about income

I am a US citizen seeking to sponsoring my spouse with her adjustment of status.

For the recent year, my adjusted gross income is under $10,000 because I started a business that didn't work out.
Currently, I am working a job and earning $2500/mo. Is this enough to get approved without needing a joint sponsor?

    Thank you

It's not your Adjusted Gross Income but the total on line 22 - form 1040. Check again, you might just qualify. I am thinking you probably had a lot of deductions and that's why your AGI dropped to $10,000.
You would have to show evidence of your current income. It sounds like you're getting a paycheck, then you would need your pay stubs - ideally 6 months but I would not delay the application to collect 6 months of pay stubs. OR you could get a joint sponsor.

It's your current income that matters, not your income last year. Your current income is 12 * $2500 = $30,000, which should be enough. You should ideally get an employer letter if possible, as well as as many pay stubs as you can get from this job, as proof of your current income.
