A question about Petition to Remove Conditions on Permanent Residency

Hi I'm a 40 year old immigrant, my wife is an american citizen, we filed tax separately on the first year, because she was working at some place before we met, and she also got an 8 year old kid from her ex boyfriend. I need to change my conditional Green card into a permanent one.


The question : is it necessary that I send a proof of joint tax return for 2005 along with the I-751? because I don't have that, I have all other documents proving that we live together including, life insurance, hotel tickets etc... What do you think???

There is no requiremnt that you need to file joint taxes...........just that th emarraige is a bona fide one so send all the other docs that you have and you should b e fine
