Is it ok to file an I-765 for a seven year old. Simply because that?s the only way he or she can get an SSN. If so, what will be the fee. The information available on the uscis website is not quite clear.

I dont think you can do that. Why you need EAD for a child or a SSN. After the child obtain the GC you can apply for SSN (or probably you get automatically... dont exactely know).
You can apply for AP and the child will get a biometric letter although you dont pays the fee. I know it is strange as USCIS says will waive the biometric for children but they still sent appointment letter as I read in this forum.

My husband is a U. S citizen and he is about to file for my son which is his stepson. We are filling out the AOS form for my son. Under parent information should I put my husband information (stepfather) or my son?s biological father?
Please any information would be of good help
Thank you
