  • I-485 typo. What should I do?

Sent the AOS application couple of weeks ago. While checking randomly my forms, I noticed a typo in my i-485. To be more specific I answered to a redundant question (i.e. one of those questions that are like "if you answered X to the previous question") and I am not sure if that could cause issues.

The first question is whether I ever failed or refused to attend any removal proceeding and I correctly answered NO since I never had any removal proceeding. The subsequent question is "if you answered yes to the previous, do you believe you had reasonable cause?" and I answered again NO by mistake even if I was not supposed to give any answer. I checked my forms over and over, but I guess I missed that in the long list of yes/no questions.

Should I contact USCIS? Should I bring it up at the interview? Or can I just assume that they will realize that was a typo since I was not even supposed to answer that?

    Thanks!

☺️I wouldn't worry about it since u answered "no". However, if the IO brings it up(which I doubt he/she will) just explain that u absent mindedly checked off "no" to the follow-up question.

I would not contact USCIS to try to correct this. I would however, point that out during the interview if the ISO does not catch. If the ISO says "PFF this is no big deal" and fixes" well, fine. I just would not want to walk away being aware that there are inaccuracies on the form. If it's caught afterwards, then they have to stop what they're doing to check your file, access other systems. They use more than one system for their checks. They're all ancient and everything takes a long time.
But that's what I would do and I am not you. JUST IMHO
