Yes that's true. There are many different variables in each person's case, and ties to an ex-spouse would certainly draw more scrutiny and suspicion. I'm sure that denials like this are not so common. Many applicants on this forum report having a smooth easy case with a lenient immigration officer. I hope I have this same luck- but I'm also preparing for the worst. Right now I am trying to gather as much evidence that I need for my interview- determining what evidence I might be lacking. What I don't have is a rental, mortgage or lease agreement with my spouse. Because we live in a house that I own and paid off years ago. So I'm providing the deed which shows my name and the date the mortgage was paid off.

That shouldn't be a problem. Every evidence u have make sure u provide a table of contents or cover letter listing the documents provided and a brief explanation besides whatever u feel needs explaining. I personally think it will help the interview go faster because some persons said their interview was 40 minutes due to the fact that the officer was going through documents. I also think it provides a chance of getting your green card sooner instead of having to wait more than 10 days for approval.
All the best! And I'll be sure to post updates on my case!
