  • Need Some help on Status of I485

    hello everyone,

I need some help to understand how can i maintain the status of my I485.There are some problems at the Company i work for and I might get laid off due to the change in management. My L-1A extension petition filed by company is still awaiting adjudication and my existing visa ends today. My spouse and I do have an EAD under the I-140/I-485 filing and hence i can continue to work. A few questions i need clarity on-
    1. I have an understanding with my employer that I will be a regular employee for the next 3 months at my regular salary. Can I be paid a lower salary to continue on the payroll of the employer beyond the 3 months without impacting my green card filing?
    2. Can i be an unpaid employee of the company (on rolls but at no pay) and keep the application on track?

Request you to please help me by answering these questions.

    Thanks,

    Aditi

You need to talk to an attorney to understand all your options.
