  • Marriage date wrong on AOS form

    Hello,

I am a citizen and have sent in AOS paperwork for my spouse.

We recently got married and I misread the marriage certificate. The ceremony was on the 5th and the judge signed it on the 6th. I thought the 6th was the official date.

I read that you can call USCIS once you receive your acceptance letter with a reference number and they can update errors. But some errors require you to resubmit everything. Do you know what the case would be here? Our marriage certificate is included of course.

I am just scared I messed everything up and I'm afraid my spouse could be deported or arrested while we wait for paperwork etc.

    Any advice would help.

I can't say for certain, but I'd assume that this is something they can rectify. After all, you would have sent a copy of your marriage certificate with the paperwork showing the information, so it shouldn't, in my view, be a big deal. Hopefully there is someone that can offer specific advice though. But I'd say don't worry too much about it.

Lol. Of all the stupid mistakes I could have made! I hope it is easy to fix.
