Need help! Second interview

I don't know whether it makes any difference if you go to the interview or not - the end result will be the same, your case will be denied. When they deny your case - it will invalidate your work permit immediately and you will be unable to work legally after that. If and when you will be referred to ICE for removal is just a matter of time and after you get put in removal - you will no longer be able to file i-485 with USCIS even if you have found love and remarried. You only options will be to file before the judge and recently the ICE prosecutors have been fighting this. Basically what am saying is time of the essence and if you are planning to do something bout your situation, you have to move quickly before this thing spins out of control.

That is the thing, what can I do? I won't get married just for papers, plus it would be too shady to marry someone now. Put yourself in my shoes, what would you do? Go to the interview or send a letter to withdraw the case?

If I go, I would go by myself. Lawyers have told me that I would probably not get detained since I don't have any record nor deportation proceedings.

But leaning towards withdrawing my case.

Dear all!! I think a miracle has happened on my case. Yesterday I received an email from the senator which I went to so he can check why they were calling me to a second interview. Well immigration told them that they understand that I must be very frustrated and that if there are things that they need to check, they will have to and sometimes it will take a while to do so.

Well, fast forward to today. I received an email with an updated on my I-485!!! It said "Your Case Status: Card/Document Production". I quickly went online to check my case and it says "Document Was Mailed to Me". Does that mean that my case was approved and that they sent my Green Card?

I'm freaking out!! Can someone help me???

I?m hoping that your green card was approved. It seems like that was the case. Do you have a pending case for EAD renewal or was the updated status for form I485?

I do have a pending case for EAD renewal, but it's a different receipt number! The receipt number that this is updating is for my I-485!!!!

Ok. It looks like you might have been approved for the green card then. If it is I hope it is the 10 year one. Praying for you.

Thank you for the prayers!! I hope so also!! I think if it was approved it's for the 10 years because I was married for 3 years.

The Document/Card production status could be misleading.
The details state that a document has been mailed to you. This usually means a letter about a decision.
This could be an approval letter or something else, we dont know.
If a card was mailed it would state this in the details if im not mistaken. At least thats how it remember it from my EAD.
Hopefully you find out soon what this is.

That indeed is a miracle if it happened. I tend to be more a skeptic on such miracles and would think that even if they decided to approved you application without another further interview they would still have asked for updated medical and/or updated financials since it is several years since you filed. Now since you filed in 2011, Your medical does not expire so it is possible.

You do realize that if this is not a glitch, your green card has been issued in error and that if the USCIS finds out it erred, it will take your green card away? Good luck and keep us posted.

Really? Wow, now I'm scared again. I spoke with my lawyer and she told me that it is a miracle but she did not mention that this could be an error and they can take it away from me.

Also, I contacted a senator and the day before the approval immigration sent an email saying that they were trying to resolve the case as quickly as possible. Couldn't the contact from the Senator's office be a "push" on their decision?

Having said that, now I'm afraid to leave the country and come back. My cousin is getting married in the end of the year and he wants me to be there and his best man!

How could it be misleading when it says Card Production?
