Local police clearance

Hi All,

I have received courtesy letter requesting for "Local police clearance letter" or " State issued criminal background check". Request to let me know the best way to get any of this information.

Every state has a state agency which maintains a database of criminal records and history within that state. If the requirements for obtaining a history record check in your state are difficult to meet, you can request a criminal records check from the FBI. For either state or FBI records check, you will have to provide fingerprint cards.

Tell us your state and you will get a recommended link for obtaining your records check.

In the U.S., "local police clearance letters" are not normally available.
