Request for Initial Evidence was sent after 114 days!

    Field Office :San Bernardino, CA

    Marriage-based AOS - Concurrent filing.
    01/02/2018 - Priority date.
    01/10/2018 - Four I-797C NOA letters - by mail.
    01/29/2018 - Biometrics walk in
02/22/2018 - online status changed to "Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It"

*Nothing was received, address was not changed.
*Spoke to USPS responsible for my address, it was confirmed that no mail sent to me returned undelivered
*Spoke with a L2 officer,it was also confirmed that no mail was sent to me and no action has being taken on my case. So I was at peace.

Since then there was no update on my cases.

04/23/2018. Based on what I read from the forum, to expedite my EAD,
(based on job offer and financial hardship, with evidence) I got a job offer and got info pass. The officer there said there was nothing they could do, I just have to wait till around July. It looks like eternity.

04/25/2018. Still acting on what I have learned from this forum, Went to the congressman's to seek help to expedite my EAD (based on job offer and financial hardship, with evidence). My information was taken.

04/30/2018. Online status of I-485 changed to:
"On April 27, 2018, we mailed a request for initial evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxx. The request for evidence explains what we need from you. We will not take action on your case until we receive the evidence or the deadline to submit it expires. Please follow the instructions in the request for evidence. If you do not receive your request for evidence by May 27, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschangeto give us your new mailing address"

My lawyer did a poor job,by not front loading evidence. Well I am done with him,he is no longer representing me.

I am still waiting for the RFE letter. My question is how long does it take for RFE letter to arrive in the mail? I don't want to miss or delayed anything thing any longer.
    Thank you.

    Informed delivery

Go to usps and sign in for informed delivery that way you can make sure nothing gets lost. You will get an email notifying you of every mailpiece or package thats in your way.

Not all zip codes have this functionality, but I would give it a try in case yours does

Thank you we have USPS informed delivery. And I am monitoring it. I just want to have an idea how long it takes before RFE gets to the mail, after the status change online.

In my case, it took 3 calendar days; I received the e-mail notice April 20 (Friday) saying 'action was taken, check USCIS account'. Weekend passed. On April 23 (Monday), RFE arrived via regular mail. The actual RFE document is dated April 19 (a day before the Apr 20 email notice). I'm given 87 days to respond, so I guess the reckoning date is the actual RFE, not the email notice.

Do you have any idea of what it might be that they are requesting??? Does it have to do with i864? I have seen a lot of RFE?s for I864.

I have no idea, but I don't think it will be I-864.
That was properly taken care of initially. What I am expecting is evidences of bona-fide marriage.
Since my lawyer did a very poor job by not attaching evidences. Though we have them.
