  • How long is their processing time?

    Hello everyone,

The Chicago office received my package on Jan. 29, 2018 and I got biometrics done on March 1st, 2018. But I have not heard anything else from them after that. I'm married to an American citizen and applied for green card, work authorization card and travel document. I checked all these cases online and all their statuses are "cases are received." I'm wondering if this is still the normal processing time. Or do I need to call them to see if there's something wrong with it? Many thanks.

Also, are you supposed to received a notice in mail or something after finishing the biometrics? If so, I have done the biometrics two months ago and I haven't received a notice about it.

Thank you. Yes, I did sign up the online account. And still all my cases status are received. No more information is provided besides that.

EAD takes up to 5months these days. So yes you're totally in a normal time frame.
Don't expect your status to update.
Case inquiry for EAD is Dec 7th 2017, since you filed almost 2months after that, you still have some time for it to be outside of a normal processing time.

You can also check your status on the automated line 1800 375 5283
Enter your receipt numbers and see what you get. MSC = 672
My I-485 status on the automated line is different than on the other accounts. It's worth checking.

            All the best.
