  • No Utilities or Lease

    Hello everyone,

    I am still waiting my interview to be scheduled but was just wondering that me and my husband are living in my husband?s parents house. Basically, me, my husband and his parents are living all together. As my inlaws are paying all the utilities and mortgage payments, we don?t have any bills that we have both names on it. We only have;

    1) Phone bill (same name and same agreement)
    2) Joint checking account statements
    3) Joint savings account statement
    4) Joint credit card statement

    Do you guys think that I can have any different joint papers that shows it?s a bona fide marriage? We don?t have lease agreement which is very good for us, we?re not paying rent and just saving for a house. What would you guys recommend me to gather?

    Thanks everybody, good luck ☺️

    Do both of you drive? And if so can you get joint car insurance? If not, just explain to the officer that you live with your parents if he/she asks for utilities or lease. I have seen couples get approved with less than what you have.

      1. Joint tax return
      2. Car, life, health insurance
      3. Gym membership
      4. Church membership
      Those are a few I can think of. If you feel like you're lacking evidence in one area, front load evidence in another area(e.g cohabitation). That's what I would do. All the best! 😊

        He?s driving but I have a state ID. I don?t drive. That?s why we won?t be able to do the car insurance joint 😄 I am afraid to drive a little bit. It should be a childhood trauma. Other than that he is going to add me on his insurance, just waiting till the end of May. He added me on his 401k as a beneficiary. We have a magazine comes to us (both of our names on it). We got married at the city hall as I?m muslim and we did same sex marriage.

        I can ask our neighbour to write a letter to show at the interview as we?re friends and they know us. Also we took care of their dogs for a month when they went to vacation. Maybe this works as another evidence that our marriage known from different couple. My mother in law was my witness and his father was his witness. This might make them know that our marriage is bona fide maybe?

          I posted my table of contents and discussed in detail how to stage evidence with receipts + picture + text messages around an event. I would suggest that you take a look through those. Other folks used that as a template and took it to the next level and came up with very intelligent and creative ways of showing evidence of bona fide marriage.

            joint taxes

            joint tax return and lots of photos. Any thing joint that involves finances will be greatly looked upon.
