    Hey guys,

I received a courtesy letter in the mail stating
?An initial review of evidence submitted with your application to register permanent residence or adjust status determined that the evidence submitted is not sufficient to complete adjudication for the following reasons:
    - a completed and signed I-693 was not submitted.

The RFE received was for not sending federal tax return from the co-sponsor

Is this just news stating that I need to go get my vaccines and that perhaps appointment letter will come soon?

I believe it means that you need to bring in the form with you when you come for your interview.

The courtesy letter is just that, for courtesy.

They're just making sure you're aware that you didn't supply them with an I-693 with your paperwork. It's totally normal. All you have to do is ensure that you have completed the form and have the sealed envelope ready to provide them when you go for your interview.

Tacitly, this letter also tells you that, except for the I-693, your application package/file has been reviewed and is deemed "complete" or "interview-ready". That's usually the next step. "Case is ready to be scheduled for an Interview". Now, how long you sit at that stage at the National Benefits Center (purgatory) depends entirely on your Field Office (heaven OR hell - LOL, just kidding )

        All the best.

Question if my case Status is ?Case is ready to be scheduled for interview? does that mean I won?t receive RFE?
We sent in my husband?s 2016 tax returns for form I864 in FeBruary because he hadn?t filed his 2017 yet. I was worried we would get an RFE for 2017 taxes.

That's what I though. Thanks a lot everyone. I hope the interview is soon.

Technically, Tax season was not over yet. Therefore, you would not be expected to have filed 2017 federal tax returns by then. You might be asking because we have seen cases of people who have gotten RFEs here of that nature. In general, when that happens, there is concern about the ability of the sponsor to support the intending immigrant. Say, they see the sponsor switched jobs 5 times in one year. However, if what you sent in shows a solid predictable future pattern, then they will just list 2017 Federal Tax returns on the interview notice.

Notice the I-693 letter also states to not send the I-693 as it might cause your case to be processed prematurely - or something along those lines. Well, how is THAT a problem? It almost makes me want to send it.

USCIS is supposed to wait until all background checks are done before scheduling the interview. For the most part, even if they're not all done, they still go ahead and schedule it and hold the interview. If those checks have not been finalized by then, the ISO generally mentions that at the interview.

Back to your specific question - once you get to the "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" stage, you can be 99% confident USCIS will not issue a RFE UNLESS someone made a mistake and it's caught. That's the 1%. But once you get to this point, no one will be fiddling with your file.

              All the best.
