Dallas Area 130 & 485 January 2017 Filing UPDATE, Please Help!
I don't know how to link other threads but I posted about a month or so ago about not having any movement on my case despite a long time frame. I was given GREAT advice and I ended up writing a letter to my congressman. Today I just got a notification that they have sent the interview notice! Here's my question though:
Our situation is that my husband came for the holidays in 2016 and to take family photos. He was here on a visitors visa when I just said I can't bear being long distance anymore and we decided to get married in a few weeks! After we got married we realized he could only stay a little longer and weren't sure what to do, so we started doing all the research. That led to us submitting an i-130 as well as an i-485 and an i-765. He got his work permission a few months later and then everything else went cold.
Our recent notice says we have been scheduled for "an employment based interview." Isn't something wrong there? Shouldn't it be a marriage based interview? I'm just worried that, by explaining to the congressman how my husband was our financial livelihood that we have now been scheduled an employment based interview rather than marriage. Should I be worried? Should I change this?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Also, Dallas filers, I have talked to a woman at my school who is the wife of a USCIS agent. She says they are really understaffed and getting SO MUCH at the moment so it's very slow compared to other cities. Just be patient even though it's so hard. Reply with your story, please!!
