  • SS card when getting GC before EAD

    Hello all

My GC was recently approved, I dont have it with me yet but status has changed to "We are producing your card and will mail it to you", so I started looking at what I needed to do to get my drivers license and SSN, there is a field in the application for the SSN that asks if you have ever filed or received a SS card before, when I sent the application for I-765 I checked yes on the question "Do you want the SSA to issue you a SS card?". So my question is, even when my I-765 is still showing as "case received" should I say yes under that field even when I have no idea if USCIS ever did anything on my I-765?

Congratulations! I got my gc 6 days after my interview. Same as mine, I bet EAD will no longer be produced. During the interview, IO told me that if you happen to receive the EAD card or combo card - we have the same status, punched a hole on it as that will no longer be of value. If you happen to receive a denial notice of your EAD, she told me to just ignore it.

For the SS card, IO told me to wait for the physical card as most SSA centers will ask for it.

So just wait, it will be in your mailbox in 6 days! Also, heres the sequence of the status

Day 1 right after interview - "We are producing your card and will mail it to you"
Day 2 - "We approved your case"
Day 3 - "We mailed your card. USPS will deliver it to you"

Day 5 - you will receive a welcome letter
Day 6 - GC is there in your mailbox

To answer your question - say NO. Same as what i did.
