  • i485 case transferred to National Benefits Center, Lee's summit, MO

Got a receipt this week that mentions that my case has been transferred to NBC, Lee's summit, MO.
Noticed that https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ doesn't list NBC at Missouri.
Does anyone have an idea on what the timeline is for i485 at this location?
    Completed my biometrics on 04/17/2018.
Would appreciate any info on what happens next?

This is a good thing! Within 2-3 months you will receive a RFE or interview notice.

NBC, Lee's summit, MO do not process I-485. It only processes other applications like travel, EAD etc. NBC will review your I-485, verify that all documents are attached with the application and prepare your I-485 for a field office (nearest USCIS office from your location). If any document is missing, you will get an RFE. NBC also schedules appointment at your nearest field office for an interview, if required.

Based on your priority date and visa availability, NBC review your I-485. You should check the https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/ for the field office location (select the nearest city that has USCIS office from your location), as most likely your application will be sent to a field office who will process your application.

Service Center tansfers I485 to National Benefits Center(NBC) . NBC will review your application to make sure you have submitted all documents and filed the application correctly. Then they will transfer I485 to your local field office which will conduct the interview . Based on your local field office processing times you can have an interview scheduled within next 3 to 5 months (approximate time - could be sooner or later)

Interviews in 3-5 months aren't that common. Most people seem to be waiting upwards of 11 months.

            Transferred to NBC

Mine was transferred to NBC on May 14, and to Lee Summit on May 16. Nothing after that. Not sure if the background check is already done by TSC or NBC will start it. Can anyone please comment on that? I lived in two other countries in last 5 years before moving to the US. Not sure, how long will it take? For I-765, status says that finger print review was completed.

              Hello

Mine was transferred same day to NBC Lee Summit, I'm in New Jersey and I sent the i485 originally in TSC. Please let us know if you receive something in the next days.

NBC is where your I-485 needs to be. No need to worry. It stays there until your interview is scheduled. The NBC orchestrates that until then, and sends your file to the Field Office once your interview is scheduled.

I haven't heard anything since it was transferred to NBC at MO. Wondering if anyone else has any updates.

after almost 6 months my i-485 is still at the national benefit center according to the status shown online. Is that normal? I am in California close to Sacramento.
