  • Request for Initial Evidence (I-485/I-864) for Joint Sponsor

So I & my wife filed an I-130 along with the Adjustment of Status form and its accompanying form (1-485/1-864). We are using a joint sponsor and received a Request for Initial Evidence letter to provide his most recent tax and evidence of income. The deadline is coming up and he is unsure that the CPA firm doing his taxes will finish up on time. There was a death in his family with prevented him from doing this on time. His is proposing on writing a letter to the USCIS to inform them on what is holding the CPA firm up and to give them an estimate time on when it will be resolved and when the documents would be made available to immigration. I'm very unsure what will happen, what advise do you guys have for handling this situation.

Would it be too much to ask the CPA to speed up? I'm not sure what will happen either but what I do know is that USCIS denies applications that don't respond to RFE's correctly. If it's out of his control completely then send the other documents they need ( employment letter, paystubs) & have him write the letter. Not sure how that will work out though. Good luck.
