I had my interview in August 2018, got my ead approved September 20, but yet to get a decision on my I485...I?m so worried right now...I called several times and was told it?s still been held for review and it still within processing time of 23 months.
The officer the. Said if I don?t receive decision after the 23 months the I can call...I?m so confused cuz the officer said after the interview that he is 99.9% sure i?d Get the card in mail, I don?t know why it?s been delayed for this long

Make an infopass appointment and inquire. The reps you talk to on the phone are not real immigration officers. They're customer services reps. Level 1, Level 2, Level 3. They are ALL reps. The immigration officers are at the field offices.

You can also have your Senator inquire. If that does not work, then your congressperson and then the ombudsman.

I didn't know that, I thought is was all step by step even though they are different entities. Good to know that my husband and I would be scheduled for the interview anytime.

Ive have never heard of this situation before, so during or at the end of the interview the Immigration officer didnt tell you anything? they can't take 23 months to me a decision after an interview, that is a bit absurd, did they ask for more evidence? I hope its a glitch in the system and it gets resolve soon. hang in there

To me it sounds like you spoke to a Level 1 officer. To anyone reading this - the reps you talk to on the phone are NOT Immigration Services officers. Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 - they are all customer service reps with varying degrees of access to your file.

I would make an Infopass appointment and speak to a real Immigration Officer. I would also reach out to your Senator. You can find your Senator here https://www.senate.gov/senators/contact Even if yours are republican, it's worth asking for their help. You are asking for help to play by the rules. Many are seeking re-election and as you may know, elections are just in a few days.

Try one senator first. Call the office and ask for their direction. Their is a privacy release form that you have to fill out. They may not help you if you do not fill out the form. Allow 30 days for the senator to get back to you with news or no news. At the 30 day mark, you may reach out to the second senator. If that does not work, you may try your Congressperson. You may find your rep here https://www.house.gov/representative...representative

If that does not work, then try the Ombudsman.

Know that sometimes reaching out to your Senator will prompt a visit from ICE if USCIS is doubting your marriage is bona fide. So be prepared.

                All the best,

                • Interview done and approved!

                  My Pd was May 2018.
                  Interview Oct. 30 at 2pm
Married since 2013 to USC husband

Interview was nothing like I expected or read about. I was way more nervous and concerned then I should have been. It went by too quickly. Immigration officer swored as in as soon as we entered his office. My attorney was present. IO asked for identification and my advance parole. After that he asked me yes/no questions from application and I answered yes to working unauthorized. He wrote notes on the back of my application. He asked how many kids we have total and I said 2. He then said that that concludes our interview and approved our case and I should receive my card in 2 weeks. He didn't asked for evidence or any other forms. I took so much and so many pictures.
Later that day I got an update on my phone saying new card is being produced. On Oct 31 application approved and Nov. 2 card is being mailed to me.

I am So blessed! Good luck to everyone on their journeys.

                    • Our law firm provided one for us. I guess it was in our contract. Our attorney pretty much sat besides us and didn't say anything. But it definitely made me more secure and calm having him there. He said I was one of his easiest client. I don't have any criminal background

                      • Interview completed, no decision on the spot?

May filer at Boston, married to USC. Just done my interview today. The officer asked very typical questions and really went into details about the marriage. At the end she said everything looks good, and also told us about the conditional green card process etc, but She didn't explicitly say my case was approve...and she said the decision will be mailed to me within couple weeks. Is anybody in the same situation? What does this mean?

                        Timeline:

                        May 2, files submitted
                        May 24, RFE received
                        June 25, RFE replied
                        Sep 26, EAD/AP card received
                        Oct 5, interview notice received
Nov 6 Interview completed without decision

Thanks for your reply. Just got an update this morning from USCIS online status checking, new card is being produced (Hooray!!!), which is basically the next day of my interview. My hypothesis is that my officer is fairly new, she needed to discuss with her supervisor for the final decision even though all things look good. Anyway, that's just a small drama.

For your interview at Boston Field office, I would suggest you bring:

-Both your ID and your passport, also your EAD/AP card if you applied as part of the 485 process
                              -The original submission
-The RFE response (if you got an RFE)
-The new medical check report if yours is already expired, dont need to bring if you already submitted and is not expired yet
-Additional evidence showing your marriage relationship: any joint bank account statement, insurance plan, additional photos (better with your friends)

In our interview, the officer was very nice, she only checked our IDs, and then just went for the additional evidence we provided on the spot. Since she already got all my original and RFE submission, we didnt really show her and that's ok.

                              Questions during the interview:

-Where & how did you meet your spouse
-When & where were you engaged
                              -How was the wedding
                              -Did you meet the parents
-Names about the spouse's family, including where they live.
-Ask couple of our initially submitted photos, where was that taken etc

                              - - - Updated - - -

I think it should be just a matter of time, don't need to worry too much. Things should move fairly quickly when our files moved to the field office and handled by IOs. Which field office did you have the interview? I think sometimes the backlog of certain offices created more trouble than just the complications of specific cases.
