Hi all..
So I have a question.

When I filed for my i765 and I485, I didnt check the "want to receive a SSN"
Pretty dumb now that I think of it.
So my EAD justgot approved. When I have my card, if I go get a SSN myself at the office, will that be a problem with my I485 application?

You can try and do that but the Social Security offices might not have your updated status in the computer system so you might have to actually wait for at least 2 weeks after receiving your card. But it doesn?t hurt to walk in and try.
When is your PD? Trying yo compare it with mine as I haven?t received the EAD yet.

That's the way it used to be; old versions of the I-765 form before a few months ago didn't allow you to apply for an SSN together, so people always had to apply for an SSN separately after they got the card.

You can start work before you get the SSN, as long as you have applied for one.

You don't need an SSN for I-485.
