  • Anyone received GC or EAD recently?

Hey guys so I just came across this article https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-rele...livery-service
It's basically saying you have to sign for your package and if no one is at home it will return to USCIS as undeliverable. Has anyone received their cards in the mailbox recently? Sometimes I'm not at home so this has me worried and the other day i was in the bathroom & heard the doorbell but I didn't go to the door right away. I waited a while because I had to get dressed but when I opened the door there was no one there.

    Hey
Go to your local post that is close to you and indicate that you are anticipating important mail from the immigration. Go with your receipts or anything that you got during the interview along with your ID to prove your identity. Let them know that you want to make sure that you got the docs as required by the immigration. They should be able to accommodate you.

You can tell the post office to hold any certified mail for you. There is a form you have to sign. I've done it in person. I do not know if it can be done online.

Your mailperson is supposed to leave a delivery reminder slip in your mailbox. That introduces human error to the equation. They don't always remember to do that. It's best to get ahead of that, and ask the post office to hold certified mail for you.

This was not the case when my husband received his EAD.

USPS has something called informed delivery - just signup for that, you get an email every morning with scanned images of all the mails that you will be receiving that day.
          Helps you plan.
          And its free service.

Hi ? they just left my card in my mailbox!
I had signed up for Informed Delivery and tracked it obsessively. The tracking number said it would be delivered tomorrow; so I went to the USPS near me and they said the package was already with a driver. I checked the status on my way home and it said ?Depivered in mailbox? and sure enough the Green Card was sitting in my mailbox

Thanks for the response. I signed up for informed delivery but it's saying they can't verify my identity and I have to Opt-in at post office. This whole GC process is stressful. Anyways, I'll go tomorrow and see what happens.

Thank God you got your Green Card approved. Everything else is a walk in the park. Go to the post office and make sure you also sign for informed delivery while you are there so they can verify your identity m. Hope you get everything straighten out.

                    wrong date on GC

I got my GC in the mailbox but it was issued in the wrong year. I called to tell them there was a typo. Waited 3 weeks for a letter telling me that I can apply for a replacement if there was indeed a typo error. I had to return the GC along with the I-90. Been a little under 2 weeks since USPS delivered my application. I have yet to receive any acknowledgement letter. Any tips?
