Hello everyone. I entered the US with a F1 Visa in 2015 , I had a pending case of asalyum at USCIS since 2016 when I got married to my spouse in late 2016. We did all the paperwork and I applied for AOS in 2017. we had our interview in january 2018, the officer told us that we will receive the decision in the mailbox in two weeks. it's been 4 months that we haven't heard anything from them. we made a service request and they answered us that we are in the queue for a second interview. I'm frustrated because the 1st interview went really well and I was really surprise to read them about that. Do you guys have any idea of why we have to attend a 2nd interview? some people said that They might want to give me a permanent residency that's why they want us to attend a 2nd interview since Our union lasted 1 year and a half or is it because of my pending asalyum? someone help me because I am really confused.

It could be because of your asylum so I would prepare really hard with your wife if I was you. I know of a person who filed for asylum but the process got so complicated. He then got married in 2006 and filed for AOS. His case is still pending since then and he is going through several appeals. Not to scare you at all. Your case could be different. His AOS was denied without being called for a second interview. Just relax and take time to prepare for it and hope everything goes well.

What do you mean your union lasted a year and a half?

He means it has been 1 1/2 years since he has been married.

I want to think that, but I am wondering if they got divorced after the interview. Divorce is public info. If they ran another background check, it's possible or likely that came up.

We are together. i think it's surely because of my pending asylum. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Got it. You meant that at the time of the interview, you had already been married for 1.5 years. So by the time you get to the second interview, you will have been married for 2 years. MissTz1982 must be psychic. LOL, I did not get all that.

A second interview does make sense to me. It would be the equivalent of the Removal of conditions interview. They're probably just going to hand you the 10 year card after they make sure you two are still married and your evidence of bona fide marriage is consistent. Prepare accordingly. Make it easy for them to approve you, and bring extensive evidence of bona fide marriage with a table of contents.

This thread contains all you should need to rock your interview.

I think this interview is a good thing.

Sooo when is your 2nd interview? Your 2 year marriage anniversary is coming up soon, too.

Here is the link to the updated thread.

Hello guys. Our second interview had taken place on January 24. As I said it was a stoke. Since the 24th, we haven't receive any letter of decision or anything. The IO grabbed a pic from our album and made my spouse signed the I-130 on the table. It's been almost 2 month. should we be worried? or we should just keep on waiting? The offie field is NYC.
