  • 3 months No receipt notice - Is this normal?

Some background story: I?m currently on OPT visa expiring July 9, 2018. However, I have filed for green card through marriage in March 15 2018 but we haven?t gotten any receipt notice or EAD from USCIS yet. My lawyer only received a note from USPS stating that the application was delivered to USCIS Chicago lockbox on March 18, 2018. Now is this normal? My lawyer kept mentioning that the processing time for Green Card has drastically increase but I can?t help but thinking shouldn?t we hear from whether they received the file already? It?s been 3 months since filing and I am devastated and worried that my application got lost and I am just sitting here wasting time.

Has any of you experienced something similar? Any advice is welcome!

It?s very unusual. Your lawyer needs to do a better job at inquiring. Yes the EAD and interview dates are taking long but receipts of USCIS acknowledging that your application was received shouldn?t.
I couldn?t get text notifications for receipt after two weeks of them receiving my application so I called USCIS and level one officer was able to give me receipt numbers for all forms I submitted. I got the texts late that night. If you can bypass your lawyer and call, I would.

That why I don't want the lawyer to do this thing. They are just not helping if your case is not complicated. You have to call USCIS!
