  • AOS and AP

Hello friends, I hope everyone got their cases going well.

I have a pending I-485 and I-131. On my I-131 I put that I intended to travel in May. I was hoping that the AP application would be accepted by then. My PD is January 31st 2018.

I was just asking if I can still travel to my home country if my I-130 is accepted after the intended travel dates I put on the application.

My wife and I would like to go visit my parents. Please share any knowledge or experience with AP and pending AOS. FYI, I was on F1 and my status expired.

You cannot travel. The explanation is really only for emergency AP situations.
Once your AP is approved it will show on it the rules its approved for.

Sadly more waiting, seems people till Jan15th currently getting approved.

Thank you for your response! I think I'll wait until I get my green card to travel safely.

        Or your Advance Parole.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Thought I can't travel with it unless it's under circumstances listed on it ??

There are no "circumstances" for a regular AOS-based AP. You are not asked on the application form for any reasons or purpose for getting the Advance Parole when applying for a regular AOS-based AP. Only if you are getting an Emergency AP would you need to provide a reason.
