You can go to any country and as many times before expiration date.

When you come back to states , at port of entry, they will ask you questions in more detail. As long as nothing is shady , you will be good. Example purpose of your visit, what you do , etc
Thank you for your reply. It?s just very confusing for me because in I-131 form they explicitly want to mention the country being visited, duration of the stay and the departing date from USA. So why would they be so strict in I-131 and then at the same time I the received notice be so relaxed. It just doesn?t add up.

As long as you have valid reasons for travel and legal status in states then I will not worry much about it. For peace of mind, You can get legal opinion by asking the question on avvo dot com

        Hi sinyanmei92,

It took me almost 20 months to get my I-130 approval. when i filed my application the turn around time was 6 months and as the time went on and on the SLA became almost 22 months .. Since you did a concurrent filing now, you might get the interview right after the approval of I-130.

        Regards

I got a mail in my mailbox today requesting for evidence before a decision can be made... What document do you want to send? Will sending my wife personal account statement be ok or our joint account statement? I don't have any job offer

You want to show how your finances are being depleted. You may need to list all your expenses vs. earnings and show that you two are either falling short or barely meeting ends. Don't just send them the statement, explain what's in the statements.

Thanks so much for your quick response. Please how do I address the letter explaining the statement? Can I also include other bills my wife is owing?

                    • Regarding this same topic..... in order to expedite, Can I send:
                      - a job offer letter (a regular one, my potential employer will not go out of his way for me, in fact I have not discussed my situation).
                      - my depleted bank accounts statements . I have 2 bank accounts in the us and 2 in Canada, all of them depleted ( I know). Or can I only send a few of them? I am afraid that they will question a few transfers of small amounts ($30, $70 every other week or so) from a friend that I was helping, however I was not supposed under my visa.

or just the job offer will do. Also what happens if I decline that job offer after. I'm not trying to use that to expedite, but there are high chances that I get a better offer later on.

Thanks guys!!!! your help is really appreciated. Good luck to everyone.

Got it. If you had been transferring 10K at a time, sure, I would be worried about it. I would think they just care to see that your accounts are by now depleted.

I would definitely enlist the help of your Senator. Your petition is through the Cuban Adjustment Act. It's on a different pile. Getting your Senator to inquire may really make a difference.

                        All the best,

                        USCFFS

PS: Is Lolita your name or your nickname? It's beautiful.

Thanks!!! You are always so helpful. I am a July filer but I know you are usually in the June thread, that's why I come here. 10k, I wish; if they ask I can always say my friend was trying to give me a hand.
Something happened: An employer offered me a second interview (I guess that's good), but they sent an employment application form and asked for my SSN. I have a SSN, but it says "to use only with DHS authorization " because of my F1. Employment doesn't start until January, so I don't really know why they need my ssn now. maybe credit and background check? Also I have been reading online, and cant find a clear answer of what an employer can verify with only your ssn, I know that eventually they will use e-verify, but not at this point .
Will they find out that I am not authorized to work at this present moment with my SSN? Or technically I am but only on-campus. they dont need to see the card, only want me to complete the form. I told them during the interview I wont need a visa/sponsorship which is true.
this process is driving me crazy.

I might expedite and ask my senator for help, but I am in Louisiana, some of these people prefer to keep things local, if you know what I mean. But it is always worth trying.
BTW, Lolita is not my real name, but If I change my name in the future, I could consider it, lol.

                              thanks!!!

You're so welcome! Glad to be of assistance. I would cross bridges as they come up. If they sent you a follow-up application that calls for your SSN, then fill it out. Know that you are entitled to know what they do with the SSN. You may ask politely. They should tell you.

To clarify, you can find your Senators here https://www.senate.gov/general/conta...m.cfm?State=LA
Read through their pages. They're both republican. Cassidy supports legal immigration. You are seeking to immigrate through legal means. That's all that matters.

Alternatively, you may reach out to your Congressperson. https://www.house.gov/representative...representative

I have gathered from second-hand experiences that folks tend to have higher success rate with Senators. They can really cut through red tape and if anything, they can shake the tree for you.

You should be able to place your request to expedite your EAD/AP. Just call USCIS and tell them you're calling to expedite BOTH. You should get referral numbers for both. By requesting to expedite both, you are ensuring that you will get a combo card. Then, you should get a letter via mail within 5 to 7 days. That letter will ask you to send evidence. At that point, you should have a job offer, or you could show the emails you've exchanged with your potential employers. You could also show a depleting bank account if that applies to you.

As soon as you get off the phone with USCIS, you may contact your Senator or Congress representative and ask them to inquire on your behalf. You will address either one as "To the Honorable First Name - Last Name" and close it with "Very respectfully"
