It's ilegal to ask that. All they may ask you is "will you now or in the future require sponsorship for employment authorization or work visa?" and your answer to that is "No". That's it.

No one is supposed to ask you to show proof of employment authorization before hiring you. You show that on your first day of work when you have to fill out the I-9.

I'd probably report them just for the fun of it.

Update:

I received the biometrics appointment in the mail today, for July 2nd. I will go to the USCIS Alexandria Application Support Center, in Virginia.

My next step is to file for expedite EAD, because I have a job offer, and I am supposed to start on September 4th. The employer knows about my situation, so I am hoping for the best.

Looking to communicate with other June Filers. I sent in my info June 12th USPS confirmed delivery June 14 but still haven?t received confirmation from USCIS.

As of today cashiers check has not been cashed and have not received any notice. I?m super worried because this is the second time we sent the packet. It was rejected the first time because we had two different payment forms. I just really hope they?re just delayed in notifying us that they received our packet and it hasn?t been rejected again! Fml

hello! New here but have been observing for a little while.

I filed for my husband who came here through an h2b visa. we've been married 4 years this Dec and only recently were able to file for his AOS. We have yet to receive any emails/texts or cashed checks. Packet sent 06/12, Packet delivered 06/15.

However, I do have a few questions.

1. We sent the concurrent filing packet along with evidence for an expedited AP because his dad is dying, was that too soon?
2. Our joint sponsor will be moving addresses within the next 30 days, will that need to be reported?
3. Can my husband file for an expedited EAD even though he's currently working illegally?

Hey, if you still haven't received NoAs, the following might help -
"If applicants or their representatives have any specific cases where they believe something was lost by a Lockbox facility, please provide details by email to Lockbox Support at [email protected] and we will investigate."
I read somewhere that it may take up to two weeks for them to get back.

Well I?m not for sure but I?ve read that you can renew drivers license with pending I 484 797 or approved I 130 797 notice but it is up to your local DMV whether they will honor that.

Checks has not been cashed. I noticed that people that filed in May get their receipt and check cashed in 5-6 days. What time of the day did you guys receive the text and email and what time of the day was the check cashed.

I wouldn't worry too much. You should receive an update within the next couple of days. My checks were cashed a little over a week after USCIS received my package. I got the text and email notification at around 11pm. The next day the checks were cashed and a few days later I received the NOA letters in the mail. My timeline is below.

Mailed I-130, I-130A, I-864, I-485, I-765, and I-131 on June 11th with USPS. Arrived at USCIS and signed for on June 13th.

Email confirmations for all except I-864 received June 20th, hard copies arrived received on June 25th.

Priority date is June 13th, notice date is June 19th.


Waiting on Biometrics letter.
