    It?s all good.

I had similar situation where both sites were showing different status after my biometric was done but few weeks ago, they updated both sites with same status.

Mine got responded after 3 days, I sent out everything by fax 3 days after the notice, 4 days later when I decided to snail mail it, they actually responded to me on the same day that thye received my faxed documents.
I made a UCIS log in and checked...they assigned our case to a worker and denied it all in the same night, after we filed to expedite it.

Now my wife has a sick family member and would like to go visit, but we are not sure if we should try to expedite it again, since we were turned down on the a job offer/financial hardship.

I would escalate the issue to your Senator. I would also complain to the Office of the Inspector General and the Ombudsman. The expedite criteria does not change based on the volume of cases. The bar is supposed to be at the same height.
I believe the denial falls under USCIS error. You were not afforded due process. You were supposed to get the opportunity to submit evidence in support of your request, but they denied it before you could do so.

Raise hell. Do not use any inflammatory language. That can easily backfire. Your wife now has an additional reason to request expedited processing - illness of a close relative.
Here is the link to finding your senator https://www.senate.gov/senators/contact
If you do not have a democrat, that is OK. Just read if the senator is at least pro legal immigration. Most are. You should also consider choosing a senator who is up for re-election in November 2018. Believe me when I tell you that they will be more than happy to help you. This type of casework is how they earn votes. You should definitely be registered to vote, and tell the senator that.

There are privacy release forms that the intending immigrant has to sign. Sometimes there is a form specific to immigration. I would call the senator's office first and ask how they would like you to proceed.

        All the best,

Thanks for the advice. Luckily for me, I am in the same area as you and feel like we are more pro-immigration than some other spots. I called and they said they would look into the case for me. Is it worth following up with UCIS at all?

              Hi,

That is the case inactivity notification which is send once in every 2 weeks.

You have the option to turn it off by logging in to the myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov site and going to settings.
              Note:- Not a legal opinion.

It so funny how my case inactivity has been on since I created the account, but I have never received any email every 2 weeks stating that there was no action on my case. Probably the traffic within their servers is the reason why some without an update for like 50 days still dosent get the usual 2 weeks email for case inactivity

                      • EAD card in production

                        Good afternoon everyone,

So, after 105 days, I received an email this morning which said that my new EAD card is in production.

I must make a side note that I have asked for an expedite processing on August 21. On August 30 I faxed all documents and proof (job offer, letter from company VP stating why there is urgency in hiring me, proof that I have lost my income in August). Finally, on September 10, almost 3 weeks after my initial request, we reached out to Virginia's congressman office to ask for their intervention at USCIS. So one week after they made the call, today, I got this email stating that new card in in production.

I would encourage everyone to reach out to their congressman/senator. I wish we would have done it sooner.

Other than that, I have absolutely no updates on any of the other forms (still Case received status/Fingerprint review completed).

Good luck everybody! Keep the faith and patience in this process!

P.S.: My field office is Washington D.C.

Congrats on your EAD! Hopefully it's the combo card. I would actually call and ask for a level 2 to make sure it is the combo card. It would be very silly to not approve your AP.

I fully support your recommendation. USCIS is so inconsistent, though. I have read of at least 3 people who called, spoke to a level 1 - simply said "financial hardship" and soon after that call, they got the "New Card is being produced" notification. In the mean time, they took their sweet time with ours, too.

ANYWAY... it's coming. Even though you got that notification, cards are produced by overnight staff. Thus, it's not too late to call and request that the AP is approved, too. It takes the same background checks to approve either one.

Hello and Thank you! I think you cannot expedite only based on outside of normal processing time (either way, now the processing times are so long, 5-7 months). But I am not sure about this. From what I know, there are 7 reasons to ask for an expedite process of your EAD, and one is "severe financial hardship to individual or company". This is the one I choose, because I have a job offer, and I was supposed to start working on September 4th, so I faxed them as proof my job offer letter, among other things, as I mentioned in my original email. I explained them my severe financial hardship in a cover letter. And also, as I mentioned before, reaching out o congressman surely sped up this process, otherwise I would be still waiting, I am sure.

Do you have a job offer? That would be a great reason to expedite.

                                Good luck!
