  • My experience - Marriage based interview June 2018.

    Hello guys,

I want to share my experience and timeline of my journey for marriage based AOS

    Forms filed: 7/11/2017
    Biometrics done: 8/8/2017
    EAD and AP received: 10/11/2017
    Interview notice: 5/11/2018
    Interview done: 6/11/2018
    GC approved: 6/11/2018
    GC recieved: 6/18/2018

Interview was last Monday. Both me and my husband and IO were were positive and smiley. He only asked us how long have we been married and how did we meet, he also asked who took our wedding pictures and who were people on them. (it was only civil ceremony with a couple of his family members). I have a felling he believed us from the start and we got approved on the spot. He kept our wedding pictures, our family pictures (only those with our family, he returned us the one of only us two), he kept our social media posts, text copies, bank statements and tax return. He didn't ask anything about our income or pay stubs.

By the end he wished us a lot of luck and reminded us that in 2 years we have to file another form in order for me to remove conditions of the GC. It lasted less than 10 minutes.

I wanna say thank you to everyone from this forum who were of great help to me. If anyone has any questions you can send me a PM.

Thank you and I wish everyone so much luck in their journeys.

We haven't sent any evidence documents prior to that. He saw it for the first time but he was most interested in wedding photos. He went quickly trough everything else.

it was California, Santa Ana office.

I wouldn't put to much stake on when someone else got their GC as an idea of when you will receive yours. While it's completely OK to be optimistic, the ETA of when you will receive your GC after your interview is approved entirely depends on where you are filing from, when the IO files the approval notice, and when they actually send out the GC. Not trying to crush your hopes and dream, just keep in mind that although it is very possible that you will receive your GC just as quickly, there's also always the possibility that it will take more time. Either way, don't fret over it. because once you've been approved it's just a matter of time before it comes in the mail and you won't have to worry about it not coming(unless of course they have the wrong address on file for some reason) it may just take some time. Best of Luck and wishes!

Yes i got two papers. One of them Said Congratulations and saying that it is conditional GC and the other one was my basic information with alien number saying that if i want to travel before receiving my GC that I have to schedule appointment.

Also at the interview he took my picture and my fingerprints (He said how they changed some things).

I also noticed that my GC didn't have a signature, which as far as I remember was one of the things they changed.

I am from Georgia and the officer gave me a paper that said it's recommended for approval and wrote in the conditional green card stuff at the top of the paper and started explaining how to remove conditional GC. I guess California is more up to date.
