Moving to a different state after completion of GC interview

Hi,

Myself, my wife along with our kid completed our GC interview (EB1 category) few days back in Newark. Now, we have a situation wherein we have to move to NC in 2 months time. My interview went positively and the interviewer told that, as the priority date for our case is not current, we will have to wait for that to come back to current and only then they will send me the final decision. I would like to know if there will be any delay/problems in getting the GC if we move there or is it fine to move there and get my GC there as all other steps including final interview is done.

People who already faced this situation, kindly guide me.

shouldn't be an issue, just MAKE SURE and inform USCIS of your change of address, and the postal service as well. it's also recommended that you sign up for informed delivery so that you can know when mail from the USCIS is arriving at your new address. Best of Luck and Wishes!

Congratulations on your interview! It sounds like it went well. There shouldn't be any delays. Here are the steps I recommend:
1. 45 days prior to your move - file change of address with USPS
2. 30 days prior to your move - file change of address with USCIS

You must file the change of address no later than 10 days after you move.
AR-11 is the USCIS form to report a change of address. You can just do it online. You have to do I-485, I-131, I-765 separately from I-130. If there is a sponsor, at least for marriage based AOS, the sponsor must file a I-865 and mail it.

You will get a confimation number after you submit the change of address. It will give you the option to print a pdf with the confirmation. You do not have to mail this form. It's for your own records.

You have the option of having a mailing and physical address. That's in case you want to get a UPS mailbox. That way there will always be someone who can sign for certified mail.
