  • Should I contact the Interview Officer or Congress?

Hi. I've been reading posts on this forum and saw that one of the users found their interviewing officer on social media. I googled the officer that interviewed me and found him too as well.

1.Should I message him and ask him about my case? Will it hurt my case if I make an unofficial contact like that?

    2. Is it better to contact the congressman instead? What do they do and does my spouse have to get involved?

My interview was 3 weeks ago and the officer said I'll get my approval letter and card in 30 days. The interview was successful and he gave me a paper with my information that had USCIS logo (name, D.O.B, A-number, etc), and he ticked off the phrase that say, "your application has been recommended for approval and a final decision will be made once your case is complete". He wrote CR6 in red ink on it and at the back he wrote, " File i751 90 days before second anniversary".

Personally, I'd avoid contacting the officer on non-official channels such as any social media, they're not likely to appreciate it.

If it was 3 weeks ago and they said 30 days so you've still got more days to go until that 30 days is up anyway.

Oh my goodness no!! Please don't do that, you're crossing the line. Be patient and wait. If you hear nothing after the one month then I'd advise you do an Infopass, if no results then contact your congressman. I'm not sure if your spouse has to go, maybe someone with experience would comment on that.
      Good luck!

Agreed that's a good way to get a one way ticket to denial town! go through the official ways of contacting them, and give it time. DO NOT contact them on social media!

You had a fast case, you are very lucky. Do you need an expedite on EAD/AP? Have you made an infopass?

Unless you have a case for bias, there is no reason to remember the officers name and appearance. Contacting them on social media might as well wait outside the office and follow them after work, respect their privacy. Even searching for them on social media started creepness people do not appreciate that here.

I would advise against contacting your ISO on social media. AOS, Removal of conditions & naturalization are all ruled by protocols. Think Wimbledon. Everyone wears white. You have to follow the protocol.

What you could do is call USCIS, inform them that your interview was 3 weeks ago, and that the ISO did not approve interim benefits. Mention that you understand the USCIS policy manual states that interim benefits are approved at the end of the AOS interview IF the petition is not adjudicated on the spot. When you hang up, you can reach out to your Senator, and pretty much say the same thing. You can throw severe financial hardship on top of it. If you are in Chicago, IL, go through Senator Duckworth. They've worked more than a few miracles around here.

*To anyone else reading this - if at the end of your interview, the ISO says you'll hear from them in 30 days or even in a couple of weeks, gently force the issue and ask the ISO to please approve the I-765/I-131. They should say yes to that. If you get a NO, then ask for a supervisor If you are confident you have a strong case

            All the best,

            USCFFS
