  • Portland, OR Biometric Walkin?

    Hi,

Can anyone share their walk-in biometric appointment experience at Portland, OR? How much time did you have to wait?

My husband did his in St Paul, MN. There was no issue with doing a walk in. The location is not attached or inside the USCIS Field Office. Thus, it is not a federal facility with airport-like security. There was no one at the door, but there was a line to get to the reception desk. We didn't say anything about doing a walk-in. Just showed the appointment letter and passport. Done. The lady at the desk did not look at the date or at least, did not care that that appointment was scheduled for 04-18-18, and that we showed up on 04-12-18.
We didn't have to wait for everyone to be done. We were given a number just like everyone else. The whole thing took less than 1 hour.

    All the best,

    USCFFS

I don't have experience with that office, but it seems walk-ins aren't an issue unless they stick strictly to appointments because they're very busy. The one that did my biometrics was very quiet, I was in and out in 10 mins, no waiting. I had the airport-style security but it doesn't take long, since we were the only ones going through it, and there was nobody in the waiting room.

      It's worth a shot.

I went with my husband in Missouri and we were in and out in about 20 minutes.
I called ahead to make sure they took walk-ins, they said just to bring identifying info & the appointment notice. When we arrived (federal building), we went through security & to the waiting room. When we went up to the desk, the woman gave us a number & flipped ahead in her appointment book to cross off my husband's name. There was one other person ahead of us, but they only took a couple minutes. All good.

Thank you so much for your replies. I did the walk-in today and it was done without any hiccups.
