Can you travel with current AP if applied for renewal AP?

Hi guys!

Have anyone traveled with current Advance Parole after applying for a renewal?
I was planning on applying for AP renewal and travel with the current AP before it is issued.
However, I just saw in the instructions it says if you travel before AP have been issued, then USCIS will consider your AP application abandoned.

I wonder if they really terminate that application for AP renewal?

Starting last year, they starting denying AP applications when the person has traveled abroad while it is pending. If they deny it, you can just apply for AP again when you get back. It's free anyway.
