  • Living outside the country before Green Card

    Hi Guys
First all I would like to thanks everybody that are sharing your experiences here. It helped a lot.

My spouse and I got married in January and he applied for me. I already got my EAD and Advance Parole.
He got a job offer outside the country. The offer is one year contract that can be extended for one more year and they asked me for my resume so they can find a job for me as well.
How is the process works on this situation? Do I have to request something to USCIS or we can not leave the country until the process is done?

I dont know what to do, because they are waiting our answer.
Please, help us with some advice.

    Update:
I just called to USCIS and they said that I can go with advance parole and I don't need to change my address with them. I just need to have someone to check my mail for me.
    Its weird in my option.

You've had a validation error for a while. I have a hunch you will get your interview scheduled soon. What's your field office?

Call USCIS again, and make sure you escalate the call to a level 3 - that's a supervisor.

If you were a Legal permanent resident already, you would need a re-entry permit to be able to join your spouse. Thus, I would triple check that leaving on AP is OK.

On the upside, having to join your husband on his work assignment by X date is enough reason to reach out to your Senator - not a congressperson - and have your interview expedited. It's all in the wording.

Here are your two Florida senators. I would go with the democrat. https://www.senate.gov/general/conta...m.cfm?State=FL

Reach out to me via private message if you'd like guidance on crafting your letter to the Senator.

    All the best,

    USCFFS

Thanks. I am going to talk to him about this possibility.
The democrat senator sounds nice, once he is already a democratic.
I am going to reach you via private message after I talk to him about it.
      Thank you again.

Btw, my field office is Miami.

In that case your AP and green card will be 1 year max out of country. For US companies they usually allow some form of US domicile.
