  • I-485 Package Returned, Need to re-file, what about medical forms

Made a stupid error (wrong date on check) in my (second) application and the package was returned. ARGH.

My sealed medical forms (I693) had been opened. Every page, including the medical forms, has a date and number printed on it, presumably from being copied. When refiling should I:

    - Ask the civil surgeon to re-seal the returned pages of my I693, even though they have numbers printed on it.
    - Ask the civil surgeon to seal a clean copy of my I693 (she seems willing).
    - Send the pages, unsealed, with a note that they have previously been opened by USCIS.
    - Re-do the medical.

    Anyone else had this issue?

Its always better to do whatever gives you full satisfaction. I am pretty sure you will feel satisfied getting another sealed copy of I693 and sending it back to USCIS. They charge maybe $100/$200 to provide another fresh sealed I693. When mine was returned I693 was opened and I got another sealed copy from civil surgeon and sent it to USCIS. You don't have to redo the medical. Medical is valid for one year from the date you did it first. Unless you did it few months back you don't have to redo it

AOS's are taking a long time now and chance are the medicals will expire by the time you have an interview so that mean's you'll have to redo them again if a year without an interview happens. I would not pay to redo them yet. Contact the service line at USCIS and explain what happened. Use that and this tidbit of information to help you make a decision on what to do.

        Not necessary

You need not bother about sealing the medical, they open it themselves just re package and return same way you get it clipped together. It happens to me . my form was rejected for expired I-130. The only thing i change is the form 130

Did you guys sent a sealed 693 or just resubmitted the same opened package. I am on a similar situation. My i485 got returned because of incorrect payment amount. Thank you
