  • I485 error message. Case won?t be found.

    Good morning.

I have had to create a new account on both USCIS websites today due to me being locked out from my previous account and having no success in retrieving it.
Here is my question on 4/18 my i485 updated to a blank white screen. When I called USCIS and spoke to level 2 officer, he told me the case updated to ?case is ready to be scheduled for interview?. Now all this time I?m hoping the 485 status will finally reflect what I was told by L2 officer but it never did.
Now that I?m having to create a new account, both websites can?t find the receipt number for form i485. Basically that receipt number won?t pull up. I only have i765 and i130 for updates.
How do I follow up on i485 if I can?t acess it? How will know if I?m scheduled for an interview without having to rely on mail or USPS?

Anyone has gone through the same thing?

    Are you a Feb filer?
The dhs site does not have i485 status at all? Hmm, for most people it shows something just an old status. For me Apr4 fingerprint review.

Short answer, its a glitch and very likely we will never be able go get web updates. You can again call them, do an SR online or do an infopass. 2017 filers who had a similar glitch never got it fixed by USCIS.

Yes. I just called and got one of the rudest L1 Officer I have ever come across. Some of them act like they are being paid minimum wage. I remained as calm as possible and decided I wouldn?t ask any further question. Will just call later.

I had same experience asking basic questions since you know even the update by the robot on the phone has the wrong status. She was overly rude...and started to read the website every word. Finally I said okay I know all this you do not need to read every word, she said thanks for calling I let it go. Will call later ask straight to tier2.

Yes feb/20, know at least 10 of us with same issue.

Wow. The L1 Officer told me to go by the processing time for my field office on the USCIS website. So I asked him if the website has 14 to 33 months for I485 that means I won?t get the interview until mid next year? He said Yes.. that?s when I knew he either was purposely misleading me or didn?t know anything about the process. It?s very frustrating but I will just keep on calling.

            Did you get your EAD?

33momths sounds like Atlanta or Chicago. That is very possible truly since the 14 months is 50% of completed cases.

I got an update card is being produced...trying to see if its a combo card or just EAD. Since need to travel for work now. The L1 couldnt even say when they mailed the approval document so she really was just being not useful.

San Diego, shorter wait than ATL, but 1.5-2 years is common due to all the asylum and other mess. Yes I am married to a USC. Got update on dhs site, card in production. Lots of people getting approved, I assume you will be around this week as well. Were you f1/b2/etc?

Checked yday and was updated. Do you have a job offer to expedite? Did you do an i864 waiver?

Expedited yes, but not sure it worked matter. That said senator/etc is a lot more open to hearing expedites after 120 days. Was just asking about waiver cause theoretically you could push for financial hardship expedite now if really need it soon. Truly I think youll get in 3 weeks max, see lots of people around our PD approved this week.

Thanks. I was going to wait for another 10 days before I can start involving the Senators. All my senators are Republicans so you know how that goes and their feelings towards immigrants. You give me hope that something will update in the next week or so.

When they are rude, make sure you voice that because some of them are being recorded by their QA's and if the customer or caller is dissatisfied due to their incompetence, they will more than likely be penalized.
