  • Online status update that on 06/28/18 interview was scheduled, never received notice

I need help! This is what I saw today when I checked my status of my pending I 485 online:

"On June 28, 2018, we scheduled an interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number …. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. "

Does it mean that I will still get a notice for a later interview or does it mean that there was an interview scheduled for June 28 and I missed it? I have never received an interview notice.

Does anyone else had this happened?

    Thanks for your help!

That means that on 06-28-18, USCIS scheduled an interview for a later date. The date of the interview is usually 4 to 6 weeks from that update. You should call USCIS on Monday and ask when your interview is. If the level 1 gives you a hard time, then escalate it. If they still give you a hard time, tell them that you are aware that the USCIS policy manual states they are required to escalate the call if you ask for it to be escalated.

If the level 2 does not cooperate, then ask for his/her supervisor. They have to escalate it.

Level 2 does not call back!

So I called on Monday and yesterday and level 2 has not called me back. I still haven't received the interview notice in the mail and I don't know when the interview will be. Any suggestions what I should do or why do you think they don't call back?

So far nothing. Called 4 times, talked to a supervisor at the immigration helpline, still no call back. I did an online request and see someone is working on it...

                    Hey Kate23,

I received the letter with the appointment in the mail 1 week after I've got the same notification you had. It's just a matter of time. I would keep trying to call and make sure the sent a letter, that's what you need in hand for the interview.

Call Every. Single. DAY! ...If you are out of status at the moment and miss your interview, you can potentially be put in removal proceeding.

If you are going to your interview with your lawyer, they get the same interview notice which you only need one to check in at the USCIS. I went to check in window with my lawyer and the person there got only one notice (mine). He had said that one notice is enough. So, you have another option if you still did not get it but you are working with a lawyer. Good luck.

                          Finally got the notice/interpreter?

I finally got the interview notice today. My interview will be August 10. I don't have a lawyer. Can my daughter who is the petitioner and US citizen translate for me if I don't understand something?

Did you go the Social Security Office to get your SSN with your EAD card? Was it a temporary SSN? Did you have to go in again after you received the green card to get a permanent SSN?

My daughter has to be present at the interview as the petitioner but is she allowed to translate/be my interpreter at the interview?
