Anyone has any experience with getting information from the call center about the status of the request to expedite the EAD/AP?
According to the 2nd level officer they have no access or visibility to any information regarding the expedite, and that 3rd or 4th level officers could not give any new information.
    Any thoughts?

I think a lot of applicants are now opting to expedite and USCIS doesn't like it because they already have backlogs. An Infopass appointment is better.

They're lying to you. They can see what's been done. They're just busy, but don't let that deter you. Like Kaylip said, an infopass may be a good way to get them to act on your file.
