  • Aos and Sponsor change during interview.

When we first submited our application my wife didnt make enough to sponsor me, because of that, we had some one else sponsor us. We just talked to the person who is helping us with our case ( not a lawyer, but a non for profits organization) and she adviced that, since she made $30k last year she can now be my sponsor. Unfortunately, her job does not provide income letters but we are able to print all of her paystub s for the year. So far the gross income is $16k. Based on that, she's expected to make enough to sponsor me ( no kids, no dependents). The case worker advice us to fill a new 864 form with my wifes name on it and give it to the IO during the interview, which is next week btw.

Do you suggest we do the swapping ?

Is there a chance USCIS may look at the application and deny us on the grounds that we didnt provide an employment letter ?

If that is the case, would we recive a denial letter or a Notice to intent to deny ?

Is their income much higher than requirement? Truly if your case looks fine, not sure worth the trouble if they are okay still.
Your wife?s firm wont provide employment letters and its not like 2-3 years of strong tax returns she has.

Ideally they want 3 years or strong tax returns from the i864 sponsor. It is helpful 100% she re-does her own i864 updated. But I wouldnt take out the co-sponsor if they are okay with the conditions still.

Thanks for the response. Yes, their income is much higher than the required.
