  • Please suggest me some tips to get someone be my joint sponsor

Hi all, The only thing stopping me for applying AOS is income requirement. Please give me tips on how to make somebody who I don't know be my joint sponsor. Is it okay to pay them money?

Do you (or your primary sponsor) have any close family members/ friends who might be willing to sponsor you? Are you a member of a religious/recreational organisation? Financially sponsoring someone for immigration benifit is an enourmous commitment as they become liable for you for up to 10 years.

As above said, it's hard to come by someone who you don't know willing to do this. It's a big commitment, and in the future if you require financial assistance and they don't help you, you could technically sue them and USCIS have said that it's almost always ruled in the favor of the immigrant, because the sponsor has signed a legal document with the US government.

Any family or friends are best, even if they're distant, they might be willing.

        Hi Tezza,

From my experience it's practically difficult, let me not say impossible, for a stranger to get involved in your joint sponsorship. Only relatives may be willing to assist. Continue knocking on all family and friends ' doors until you achieve. Goodluck!
