  • Advanced Parole

    Hello,

I last entered the US on an H1B visa, I got married to a US citizen 3 years ago and in December I left my job and applied for adjustment of status. I've since received my EAD combo card with the Advanced Parole. I'm planning to travel abroad in September for 2 weeks. Since i no longer have an underlying Visa status and my currently status is pending Adjustment I'm wondering how safe would it be for me to travel. The advanced parole stated that even though they granted me the parole, there's no guarantee that I would be allowed back in at the border. What is the possibility of not being allowed back in? and what happens to my application if i'm refused entry, how common is it for people to be refused entry at the border? My record is clean but with the current climate and daily barrage of USCIS rule changes i no longer know what to believe.

I'm planning to travel to a middle eastern country(not one of the banned ones)

I appreciate any help, feedback or suggestions.

    Thank you

Unless your AOS gets denied for some reason, it's safe to travel on Advance Parole, maybe even safer than on a visa.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
