  • Rescheduled GC interview

On april 24th, my lawyer submitted a request to reschedule my GC interview due to unavailability (interview supposed to happen on May), my lawyer received confirmation that the reschedule request was received and now 3 months have passed and I haven't received or heard anything!
Has anyone had to reschedule their interview recently? If so, how long did it take? I'm starting to get really worried and I am not sure what to do. I'm also confused as to how this whole rescheduling works....the officer told my attorney that they would interview mt when the new notice arrived and that they sent the file for rescheduling.

It's a very risky business rescheduling GC interview appointments and you should definitely avoid bar some kind of absolute emergency. I've heard of people rescheduling their appointment waiting months for another one. Most people will advise the same, do not reschedule this appointment unless it's life or death. The reason being, they have so, so many interviews every week that you kind of fall to the back of the line for an interview. I've seen someone on here say something before along the line of, "USCIS will see this in a way that says well, if you're not taking this process seriously and making yourself available for something as important as this, then you're obviously not in a rush to get your GC and they can wait."

It's such an important thing that almost everything else can be rescheduled with ease, to make way for this interview.

I think there are a couple of people on here I've seen ask this question before, so you could do a search for this kind of post. But I'd say the only thing to do is wait. You could try calling USCIS since it's been 3 months and ask them about it, ask to speak to a tier 2 officer if the first one isn't helpful.

Unfortunately, when you postpone an interview you're basically starting over the interview scheduling wait, which we all know is a long one. Some people wait a whole year for an interview. You'll have to wait. Don't be worried. Your file is at the field office. If you want u can schedule an Infopass appointment but this is expected that's why most people don't reschedule.
      Good luck.

It's nearly impossible to give you any meaningful advice without knowing your timeline, and your field office. Everyone should have their timeline in their signature.
