My AP/EAD was approved a week ago, and i got the physical combo card with 1 year validity.

Application received by USCIS: July13 2018
Ready to be scheduled for interview: August 6, 2018
EAD/AP approved: October 31 2018
Physical cards received: November 6, 2018.

EAD expedite request

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have experience with EAD expedite requests?

I requested to have my EAD expedited on November 7th over the phone. I received some updates on my case on Nov 8th that my expedite request was assigned to an officer and completed.

Now I want to send them an evidence of financial hardship and my job offer. Where is the evidence faxed? I?m asking because the person I spoke to told me to not call them again.

I checked on the iOS app (USCIS tracker) cases around my case number, and most of them seem to have received the EAD/AP around the same time as me. It was almost like a wave. I found the app really helpful as it gives a good sense of how cases filed the same day as you are doing. You can check around 500 cases around your case number.

Please what evidence did you provide to your congressman? I'm not sure how to go about contacting mine. Do I call to schedule an appt or email them and I currently do not have any job offers.

I would file a complaint with the office of the inspector general. You will give them the time of your call and the phone number you called from. They will investigate. That's why it's important to take the representative's ID in the beginning of the call. Asking for a supervisor at the call center is pointless. You will just get a customer service supervisor.

I had a personal connection with a congressman but I?m pretty sure you can just give them a cal. The evidence I provided was an official job offer letter.

Hi,

If you don't have an active job offer, you can still apply for an expedite EAD request if you show that you have a several financial hardship. You could provide bank statements that show you have no more savings, bills that show you have expenses (but no income), and things like this. If I am not mistaken, you need to provide some sort of evidence to show why you qualify for an expedite EAD. Just be sure you attach a cover letter in which you explain your situation in much detail, and why you qualify for the expedite process.

We called our congressman's office (just google it, based on the city you are living in, and you should be able to find your congressman), and usually they have a contact email address and phone number where you can reach them. My husband called the office and explained that I have submitted the expedite request, sent all my evidence, and there was no update, and if their office could help us in this matter. Then, we emailed the person responsible with this in the congressman's office all the evidence, together with a cover letter explaining in detail my situation. After that, you will have to wait for a response. In my case, it was quite fast, within a week they approved my expedite EAD.
