At this point no matter what day it is you have to ask your husband to ask for a day off and go to the interview. The interview is normally a month away from the date of the notice and if you reschedule it you could be waiting another year or months for it.
Just tell your husband to take a day off on that day.

I got my interview receipt on July 5, 2018. No text. The interview date is July 31, 2018. As soon as we got the date hubby requested the day off, I re-did the medical and both hubby and I are reviewing and organizing our docs. So you will get the time to apply for a day off. Please don't reschedule the interview.

          All the best.

It's a pretty expensive training he has to go out of town. I already told him to talk to his boss tomorrow that it may overlap.

How was the medical? Do you just need to take the i-693 form to the clinic? How long until you get the packet back to take to the interview?
I just have 7 doctors in my area that are allowed to do it. Hopefully I can get in sometime next week.

Medical is simple. I took my own forms in, but they had their own that they used anyway, just asked me to fill out the part that I had to fill out and I gave it back to them.

I went back with a nurse who took my blood to test for syphilis and TB and they took my urine to test for gonorrhea (and they also tested for a bunch of other STIs at the same time).

After that she sat me in the doctor's office and took my blood pressure, height, weight etc. Then I waited on the doctor to come in and do the physical. I had to have a DTaP booster as I hadn't had one for 10 years, but that's all I needed as I had records of my other vaccinations. They gave me a signed bit of paper to take to the local health department who gave me the shot and faxed the confirmation I'd had it back to the doctor so he could note it on the I-693.

I went back around 5 days later to pick up the completed signed and sealed form.

Thank you for replying. I have about 5 Drs. that does the exam in my area and they are all between $450-$1000. This is crazy!

You're F-1. Are you at a large university associated with a hospital? If you do, you can use your student insurance at Student Health Services and get blood titers to determine your levels of immunity, if you do not have your records with you. My husband was F-1 and he was required to bring all his vaccination records with him from Malaysia.

If you have insurance, you can search for the physicians on your network and I guarantee you that you will find overlap between the Civil surgeons listed in your area and the physicians in your network. Often times, the visit can be billed as a yearly physical.

Thank you for responding. Well I hope the training can accommodate him at a later time during the day of the interview that is if the dates coincide. We can only do what we can and I strongly advise do not even contemplate missing or re-scheduling the I485 interview.

My medical renewal experience was great. After calling approximately 15 or more USCIS civil surgeons in South Florida from the USCIS website my hubby and I decided on the cheapest ($150) that could make a near immediate appointment. Some of those doctors no longer offered the service, their information was not updated on the USCIS website. Overall, my renewal medical (July 9, 2018) was a breeze, except from the immediate pain and me squirming from the punctures of the TB test and blood drawing. The nurse's assistant looked through the record of the previous medical and my immunization and noted the Varicella (Mumps, rubella, measles) vaccine I received last year 2017, on the new form. I also gave a urine sample for the relevant test. The TB test was non-reactive, the doctor nor nurse didn't insist on returning on the 2nd day to read the skin, but I did. So, I returned on Thursday (the doctor was out of office on Wednesday).

I made an appointment on Monday, July 16, 2018, one week later to retrieve the results and the sealed envelope. Yes, I asked for a separate results sheet for me. I also peeked on the USCIS medical certificate documents as the doctor was completing it. I noted my married name was not listed, I have a double-barelled first and last name. That was corrected immediately. The doctor then asked about any drug addiction, hypertension etc as appeared on the USCIS surgeon document. We discussed other unrelated topics such as pre-natal advice etc. He even caringly cautioned that I am particularly careful when filling out any document for immigration, as he went through it and it can be very rigorous. I thanked him and left with sealed envelop and my single sheet of results. I had a great experience.

                          All the best.

Found a doctor that is in network with my health insurance, hopefully, she will bill to health.
I got the vaccination card from my mom. It is just a print and it is in my native language, hopefully the Dr. Will be able to use it.
I have an appt on Monday @10:45.
Getting the whole day off work bc I also have a job interview later date day. (:

My husband was F-1 and he was required to bring all his vaccination records with him from Malaysia.

If you have insurance, you can search for the physicians on your network and I guarantee you that you will find overlap between the Civil surgeons listed in your area and the physicians in your network. Often times, the visit can be billed as a yearly physical.

Just gently say to the physician "I know of others who billed it as a yearly medical" Done. Most physicians will go with that. All they're doing is filling out a form and ordering a few tests.
