  • I-864 Self-Employed Question

My husband (USC) worked as a W2 employee making well over the 125% guideline until December 2017. He filed 2017 taxes as W2 employee. Starting January 2018 he became self-employed as a real estate agent. Since he hasn't yet filed 2018 taxes, will his current employment matter? I understand we need to include most recent tax returns (2017) and those meet the guidelines. So far, from January to July he earned much more than his W2 salary and even with all the maximized deductions, his net income is higher than the 125% guideline. Besides the 2017 tax return and 2017 W2, his realtor license and current contractor agreement with the brokerage, do we need any other documents (financial docs)? Also, do we have to worry about this? Should we get a joint sponsor (my aunt) just to be sure? Thanks!
RoC (I-751) Application, filed from Houston TX
10/24/2021 - USPS delivered the package in AZ
10/27/2021 - Text from USCIS with receipt number, check cashed. Assigned to the Texas Processing Center

09/24/2018 - Package delivered to PO Box (PD)

If his 2017 income is sufficient to sponsor you then don?t worry about finding a joint sponsor. You just have to include the current income evidence though which is his real estate along with his 2017 taxes and W2s. They go by what he is currently making.
