  • Please critique my checklist!!

    I am putting together my concurrent filing and here is my checklist. I am petitioned ny USC husband, adjusting from F1. He gained citizenship through parents so there is no naturalization certificate.

    I-130 packet
    ● Form G-1450 for credit card payment in the amount of $535
    ● Form G-1145 completed
    ● Form I-130 completed
    ● Form I-130A completed
    ● Copy of the US passport identity page of the petitioner
    ● Copy of the birth certificate of the petitioner and its translation
    ● Copy of the marriage certificate
    ● Copy of the divorce ruling of the beneficiary and its translation
    ● Two (2) photos of the petitioner and two (2) photos of the beneficiary
    ● Supporting Evidence:
    Copy of the driver licenses of the petitioner and the beneficiary;
    Copy of the lease agreements (past and current);
    Bank statements of the joint checking account and credit card;
    Copy of the car insurance (past and current);
    Copy of utility bills in each of our names;
    Records of joint travels (flight and hotel reservations, receipts);
    Several personal photographs.

    ● Two (2) photos of the applicant and two (2) photos of the petitioner

    ● Application for Employment Authorization Subfolder (I-765) with 2 photos, passport page, I-94, marriage certificate.
    ● Application for Travel Document Subfolder (I-131) with 2 photos, passport page, forms I-94 and I-20, marriage certificate.

    Am I missing something? My husband was a W2 employee until Dec 2017. Afterwards he has been self employed, which is why I?m including biz docs. Thanks!

    01/13/2020 - Interview
    01/23/2020 - Case Approved, Card Mailed.

    Instead of credit card payment, use check. Chances of CC rejection is more..

      Photos of USC spouse are not needed for I-485.
      If you have multiple I-20s (old, expired ones) under the current F1, send their copies too.
      In general, IRS tax transcripts are considered to be better documents than tax return and W-2s but what you have is good too.
      I agree with what was said above: use personal checks instead of credit cards, if you are able to.

        Why does the petitioner need a translated copy of birth certificate? If the petitioner is a US citizen through naturalization then he/she doesn't need to put the birth certificate. The naturalization certificate is proof of citizenship. Natural born US citizens put their birth certificates as proof of citizenship.
