  • HEADS UP!!! Read this if you are filing a CHANGE OF ADDRESS!!!

The website says you can either mail the AR-11 or fill it out online. Naturally, doing it online is faster and you get a confirmation number right away. We filed a change of address recently. We are back in Minnesota. Then on 07-31-18 we got the "New Card is being produced" for the I-765. We called USCIS right away to make sure that the change of address would happen before the card is mailed out. The Tier 2 we talked to had to be a Senior officer. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He told us that they've been having issues with the online AR-11 form. "It's best to call. If a representative enters the request for the change of address, then that prompts the system to drop the request into the queue, and it will for sure get worked on"

I am paraphrasing but you get the idea. You can fill it out online BUT I would just call and make sure that you get the confirmation number from the rep. The confirmation number that the Tier 2 gave us started with a WKD. And the one I got, when I filled out the AR-11 online, started with a CA. That one never got worked on. The Tier 2 also entered a change of address for each application separately. To be clear, the confirmation number for the I-765 is different from the confirmation number for the I-131.

Congrats to everyone who's getting EAD approvals. I hope all March filers get theirs. It's been a long and grinding wait for all of us.

    All the best,

    USCFFS

Thanks for letting us know. If I get confirmation email that change of address was completed I don?t need to call USCIS right? I don?t really have time to wait.

That's useful info because we've definitely been seeing a number of people post recently about their receipts and cards going to their previous addresses. Congrats to you and your husband, finally moving forward!

I did online request of address change for 485, 130, 765, 131 in October I also filed paper i865 for my wife who is my sponsor. Months later I found out that for some reason only i765 and i131 got address updated on them, while my i-485 still has the old address on it. Level 2 officer couldn't explain why it happened. So I had to file separate AR11 online for that form. Thankfully I didn't receive an interview notice, so it didn't get mailed to the old address.

Thank you! It's no green card BUT it's definitely peace of mind in MinneSLOWta. We may even drive up to the Canadian border and use his card. Fort Frances is not that far.

We just got the "Card was mailed to me" status update. Hopefully they send the tracking number soon.

Congrats! and thanks for the heads up! your PD is one day earlier than mine and we both filed from MN so I'm hoping to get mine soon. it's been 123 days since they received my I-765 and the only notification I got is "We received your case", oh btw the "Notice Was Returned..." it was a change of address confirmation. so still no updates except "we corrected your name" on the I-485.
