I just wanted to share my experience of using the 201 Varick Street ASC. My appointment was for August 6, but I walked in a week before. I reached there at 12:30 pm and I was literally the only person to finger print. Walked in an out in less than 10 minutes.
They check the appointment letters and read the dates, but didnt ask any questions. Could be that many people come in the morning and they could be selective. At 12:30 pm, the building was empty and everyone was very laid back. Also you can take your phone with you (it's hard to leave it anywhere if you're from NYC, it's not like you drive and can leave it in your car). Just need to turn it off and keep it in your bag.
