  • pending i 485 pending for 1.5 yrs after interview

Hello people, i submitted my 130,i 485 since dec., 27th 2016, i had my interview on April 11 2017, i got my work permit a week later, me and my wife were seperated during the interview, our responses were 90% accurate. We were not asked for any further document and he said he will review our case and get back to in 3 weeks. i have tried almost everything to know why a decision hasn't been made after a year and 8 months, i have called uscis on different occasions and contacted my Congressman , they kept responding in the same way everytime, that is, its still on background check. I'm thinking of getting an immigration lawyer perhaps that may help. I'm in kansas city missouri. please, do anybody has similar experiances?

Find the Senator and contact them. Often with a push from the Senator your case will receive a quick boost.

The Senators for MO are here: https://www.senate.gov/general/conta...m.cfm?State=MO

You should consider visiting the website of the Democrat Senator and contact them regarding this issue.

Oh, I've been there... That's sort of what happened to me. Here are my questions for you:
      1. Did you get married and filed right after you got married?
      2. If you filed right after getting married, did you not send evidence of bona fide marriage with your applications?
      3. If you filed right after getting married, did you include evidence that showed how long you dated for?
      4. When is your 2 year marriage anniversary?

When folks file right after getting married, it's important to show evidence of the longevity of the relationship. Otherwise, it looks like you met the day you got married and then field for AOS. I am not saying that is what you did, but that's what it may look like to an Immigration Services Officer.

If I were you, I would not rock the boat before your 2 year anniversary. On the day of the anniversary, raise hell. Involve your Senator, move on to the Ombudsman, email Cisna if you have to. Reach out to the field office director. Force the issue. Sometimes Immigration Officers move on, get promoted, and do not leave their affairs in order when they leave. I know that my file was just collecting dust at the field office.
