  • Planning ahead - medical expiry date question

Hey all, seen some really good advice on here regarding the medical, and its expiry in relation to interview dates - thanks.

My whole package was submitted and received by USCIS on September 26th 17

My understanding is that the medical is valid for one year from submission date.

When I got an initial RFE, I was told that my case went back to processing day one (Nov 8th)

Question - would my medical expiry be 09/26 or 11-08?

it would be the one year from the date the exam was given. the November 9th date is separate and for your application process only. the med exam date is not connected to application date
This is strictly an opinion and should not be misconstrued as legal advice. The use of this information is strictly at your own risk.

This is what the USCIS policy manual says.

      - you have 1 year to submit the I-693 from the date that it was completed. Eg., if completed on 08-01-18, you have until 08-01-19 to submit it.

      - then, it remains valid for 1 year from the date USCIS receives it - for adjudication purposes. So if you sent it with your AOS package, then that second 1 year window starts running from the date it is received; I.e., your priority date.

      - Since USCIS received your I-693 on 09-26-17, it remains valid for 1 year from that date.

Tbe Request for initial Evidence is said to reset your PD, sure. That really just means that your file sits there until you submit that initial evidence. Since it?s initial evidence they?re missing, they can?t establish you?re eligible for the benefit you are seeking.

But all of that does not extend how long your I-693 remains valid for adjudication purposes from the date it?s received by USCIS
